A free, privacy-first tool built to solve a common problem faced by millions of Indian government job seekers.
Every year, millions of candidates apply for government jobs in India through organizations like IBPS, SBI, SSC, UPSC, RRB, and state public service commissions. Almost every application requires uploading a passport-size photograph, a signature scan, and sometimes a thumb impression and handwritten declaration — each with very specific pixel dimensions and file-size limits measured in kilobytes.
Getting these specifications exactly right is surprisingly difficult. A photo that is 51 KB when the limit is 50 KB will be rejected by the portal. Dimensions that are off by even a few pixels can cause errors. Many candidates — especially those in rural areas, tier-2 and tier-3 cities, or those applying for the first time — struggle with image editing software like Photoshop or GIMP, which are complex and often not available on their devices.
Existing online resizers often upload images to remote servers, raising privacy concerns. Some add watermarks, require sign-ups, or are cluttered with ads that make the process confusing. Many do not support the exact KB-range compression that government portals require.
Resize to KB was built to solve this problem once and for all. The tool is designed around three core principles: privacy, accuracy, and simplicity.
Privacy means your images never leave your device. Every resizing, cropping, and compression operation runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. There are no server uploads, no data collection, and no accounts to create.
Accuracy means every tool page is pre-configured with the exact pixel dimensions and KB file-size ranges from official recruitment notifications. You do not need to look up specifications or guess — just select your exam, upload your image, and the tool handles the rest.
Simplicity means the tool works in three clicks: choose your exam, upload your image, download the result. No technical knowledge required. Works on any phone, tablet, or computer with a modern web browser.
Every specification is sourced from official notifications. We verify and update them with each recruitment cycle.
Client-side processing isn't a feature — it's the architecture. Privacy isn't an option; it's the default.
Whether you're a first-time applicant or a seasoned candidate, the tool is designed to be intuitive and accessible.
Resize to KB exists because of the government job aspirant community. Your feedback shapes every improvement.
Resize to KB currently provides pre-configured image resizing tools for eight major Indian recruitment organizations: the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), State Bank of India (SBI), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB), Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC), Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL), and Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). We are continuously adding support for more organizations and recruitment types. If your exam is not listed, please check back soon or reach out to us.
Resize to KB is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government organization. Organization names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Specifications are sourced from publicly available official notifications. Users should always verify requirements against the latest official documents before submitting applications.
