This Privacy Policy describes how Resize to KB ("we", "us", "our"), accessible at resizetokb.com, handles information when you use our free online image resizing service. Resize to KB is designed with privacy as a core architectural principle — all image processing occurs entirely within your web browser, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your images or any personally identifiable information.
Resize to KB does not collect, store, or process any of the following: your photographs, signatures, thumb impressions, or handwritten declarations; your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifiers; your IP address in connection with image processing; or biometric data of any kind. When you upload an image to Resize to KB, the file is read by your browser's FileReader API and processed using the HTML5 Canvas API. The image data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
We may collect limited, anonymous, aggregated data through the following mechanisms. First, if Google Analytics is enabled (via an optional GA4 tracking ID), it may collect anonymous page-view data such as pages visited, browser type, device category, approximate geographic region, and session duration. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users. Google Analytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Second, our tool-usage counter records an anonymous count of how many times each resize tool is used per day. This counter stores only a numerical count associated with a tool ID and a date — no user information, no image data, no IP addresses.
When you use Resize to KB, your image is processed through the following client-side pipeline: the browser reads the file from your device using the FileReader API; the image is decoded and drawn onto an HTML5 Canvas element; the Canvas API resizes the image to the target dimensions; JPEG compression is applied at the optimal quality level to achieve the target file size; the resulting image is made available for download as a Blob URL; and after download or when you navigate away, all temporary objects are released from browser memory. At no point in this pipeline is any network request made to transmit image data. The entire process executes within your browser's JavaScript runtime.
Resize to KB does not set any first-party cookies for image processing or user tracking. The only local storage used is a sessionStorage flag to dismiss the privacy banner and network monitor widget — this stores a simple boolean value ("true") and contains no personal information. If Google Analytics is enabled, it may set its own cookies as described in Google's Cookie Policy. No image data is ever stored in cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or any other browser storage mechanism.
Resize to KB may use the following third-party services: Google Analytics for anonymous page-view analytics (optional); Vercel for hosting the web application; and Supabase for storing tool configuration data (organization names, exam specifications, and usage counts — no user data). None of these services receive your image data.
All traffic to resizetokb.com is encrypted using HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher. We implement strict security headers including Content-Security-Policy, Strict-Transport-Security, X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, and Permissions-Policy. Since we do not collect or store personal data or images, there is no user data to breach. Our server infrastructure stores only public tool configuration data.
Resize to KB does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 18. Since the tool processes all images locally and does not require account creation or data submission, there is no mechanism through which children's data could be collected.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Resize to KB after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
